December 06 Lesson

 The holiday season for ‘06 has finally arrived and what could be more appropriate than Christmas/Holiday tunes. No, I hadn’t forgotten about you guys/gals and the desire to learn something new, but it has been busy.

Because it’s been a little while since our last lesson update and because I wanted as many folks as possible to have something to work on, there are 2 tunes for this go’ round.

“Deck the Halls”, is written and recorded twice for both mandolin and guitar. Once as a plain melody with an even feel, and once a little grassed up, with a swing feel. There’s a video for the “grass” version as well.

“It Came Upon a Midnight Clear”, is also done twice for both mandolin and guitar. Once grassed up and once as a solo piece for mandolin and guitar. There’s a video lesson for the solo version.

Download each file to your computer so you can bounce from one file to another much faster. Play with the versions. Make them yours. Change endings, licks.
